Assessment and Care Costs: What does this mean for me or my loved one?

Do any of us enjoy a physical? Most people find them to feel very invasive. Which is why I am here to tell you it doesn’t have to be. An assessment is NOT a physical. It does not require  removing clothing or having to sit on a cold table. In fact, it begins simply with a review of the physician’s report (LIC 602).

An assessment is used by senior care facilities and caregivers to provide the best and most personalized care for your loved one. It allows caregivers the ability to determine what type of care your loved one needs for them to live a thriving and fulfilling lifestyle and it helps build trust between caregivers and residents.

  • Is your loved ones’ needs going to be met in this specific community?

Your loved one may have their own health care limitations that may not be taken care of safely in a community. At Calson, our top priority is to make sure your loved one receives the best care possible and by providing an assessment, we are able to understand and fulfill their unique needs while creating a safe and engaging environment.

  • How do we create a care plan for your loved one?

Once we determine our compatibility, we create an individualized care plan that fits your exact needs as no two residents are the same. It is specific to the exact care needed to ensure your loved one lives a full and meaningful, quality life.

  • How do we determine cost?

With the resident assessment, we are able to understand the care your loved one needs and if our community is compatible with them and determine the right care plan for your loved one. Once a care plan is established,  we will be able  to determine the care cost.

Our care costs are based on a point system, unlike most assisted living communities which are on a tier system.

What is a point system and how does it work?

The point system is unique and great for families because it is flexible.   As the needs of your loved one fluctuate, their points will go up and down allowing for the care costs to adjust to their specific needs.  This promotes independence for our residents which is our top priority, to maintain the pride and dignity of every person.

What is a tier system and how does it work?

A tier system does not necessarily assure the care cost is in line with the care plan. Typically,  the tier cost will stay the same unless there is a drastic change in health condition for your loved one. This tends to not be beneficial or economical if your loved one is coming in with some weakness and is able to care for themselves as their condition improves.

We have witnessed the loss of independence in the faces of those just beginning their search for assisted living. It is because of this feeling that many tend to wait until a trauma  forces them to move quickly. But with our approach, your loved one will feel right at home because our individualized care plan is designed just for them. As you can see, there is nothing to be afraid of. With our professional team, we are here to help in many ways; it is our compassion that sets us apart. With a company that is family-owned and operated, we can ensure the best experience and care, and that is why you should “let our family care for yours.”
