Updates on reopening for visits

We look forward to one day welcoming the community back to visit loved ones; however, at this time, our communities have not yet received guidance from the Department of Social Services (DSS) on how or when we can begin reopening for visitors. We remain in close contact with our local DSS agent and have been told that State guidelines are expected to be released before the end of the month.

We know it is not easy to continue to stay separated, but we are all in this together. Our communities remain COVID-19 free and the Calson organization is committed to keeping it that way. The health and safety of residents and staff is our number one focus now and throughout the duration of this pandemic.

Once guidelines become available, we will share them with all of you. We anticipate DSS will follow the Governor’s roadmap regarding timing, although it is unknown at this time if we will be part of Stage 3 or Stage 4 reopening. Given the susceptibility of our residents to the virus, we believe it is likely to be Stage 4. For details on the Governor’s roadmap, visit https://covid19.ca.gov/roadmap/

In the meantime, we were recently highlighted in a King 5 News in Seattle clip for our “Sneeze Guard 3000.” Three of the seven Calson properties now have their own plexiglass cubicles, available by appointment only, for in-person visits. While we cannot touch yet, we can still be together. So, if you haven’t yet, please take advantage of the ability to see your loved ones face-to-face until we know more about reopening guidance and can circle a date on the calendar for you to come back in!
