WWII Vets Fly High

Good Day Sacramento recently visited Cornerstone Assisted Living to film a special day for some exceptional residents! Through Calson Management business partners, the Director of Resident Development at Cornerstone—Eira Rea—engaged with Dream Flights to make flight requests for their resident World War II veterans. A nonprofit organization with pilots that fly thousands of veterans each year from all over the country, Dream Flights took multiple veterans into the air, including Cornerstone’s Paul Hanson, a pilot in World War II.

With a mission to give back to those who have given by honoring veterans and senior citizens, the Dream Flight experience is a way to thank these men and women for their contributions to making our country what it is today. This year Dream Flights is flying only World War II veterans to honor the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December 7.

Staff and families clapped, cheered, and cried at seeing these amazing vets get the chance to fly again!
